What is EMV?
EMV is a de facto standard for debit & credit bank cards, jointly developed by Europay, MasterCard and Visa. EMV will mean that the current mag stripe banking cards will be replaced with smart cards in the forthcoming years. Visa and MasterCard (global scheme operators) have already committed themselves to EMV for their credit and debit products.
